Bergen #4

Our last few hours in Bergen were spent wandering through the narrow lanes between the shops on the Bryggen, along the streets of colourful wooden houses and in the park in the artists’ quarter of the city.

We have had a wonderful time in Bergen with, as always, the sunshine over the four days making the holiday all the more enjoyable.  It is a colourful city, very compact and perfect for walking and exploring.  It has lots of museums (for rainy days) and shops (for window shopping ;-) and top class eateries (especially if you like fish!) all adding  to the overall experience.

We had fish and chips at Norway’s #1 chipper, the Bergen Fisk, which were eaten sitting at the quayside.  Why is it food eaten in the great outdoors always tastes better?

A most enjoyable holiday!
