Burst Water Main

Minor panic this morning when I suddenly discovered that the water supply to the house had failed.  The internet then revealed that a) it had already been reported, and b) it was affecting a large area.

This afternoon a neighbour reported extensive flooding in front of Dunelm Mill causing chaos with traffic.  True to their prediction, Scottish Water got the supply running again, though under reduced pressure,  by late afternoon.

At 10pm, I could still hear a pneumatic drill operating nearby so went out to investigate.  There was a flooded crater on the Esplanade in front of Dunelm Mill but all the activity was concentrated about 200 yards away where 10 service vehicles were working on digging a big hole.  I think this could be a long job.

Technical Info
Eight of the vehicles had flashing amber lights so in an attempt to capture them all 'on' I used a slow shutter speed of 0.5 seconds and made several captures.  This one achieved that.
