Bee on Astrantia

It was lovely and sunny this morning and the bees were really enjoying the Astrantia flowers in the back garden. It clouded over this afternoon and now, at 8pm, we have torrential rain.
In the extra I have added a photo of some of the young starlings who appeared this afternoon, shrieking and squabbling, to feed on the fat ball. I’ve not seen them for a couple of weeks and am amazed at how different they look in their almost adult finery!
