Dr Jenner's House

Visited The Home of Vaccination today. This is where Dr Edward Jenner developed the first smallpox vaccine. The main shows a small mosaic artwork by Lynda Knott that represents the eradication of smallpox by 1980. Extra 1 shows one of the plants in the physic garden. This is a reproduction of the original garden that contained flowers and herbs that were used to treat various ailments. Some were more beneficial than others. After tea we went for another walk up to the Tyndale monument where a troop of scouts and guides were trying out for their kite flying badges (extra 2).
