Quod oculus meus videt

Waved Off

Our final morning in the Azores.  We had done this for some of our new friends on Saturday, but it was our turn today.  Mandy and Yvonne (left) had joined us over the weekend and L got a chance to ride with them on Sunday.  It seems that all of the people that of on these types of holiday's are lovely, and they were no exception.

Claude and Christina (right) are the owners of the farm, having come over from Sweden in the early 2000s to set it up.  Claude is a character, while Christina is the glue that makes it work.  We would thoroughly recommend a trip to their home, whether you were a rider or not, they looked after us so well.

Sadly the return journey was not straightforward.  Firstly our plane was delayed, taking off almost two hours late.  Then, returning to the car to drive home from Stansted airport it wouldn't start.  The battery was dead.  Thankfully, the airport had a team for just such situations and we were soon given a boost to start the car, though we daren't switch off the engine all the way home.
