Chinon Shutters

Another blast from the past.
While walking around Chinon, France a few years ago, these shutters ‘spoke to me’. You don’t see many shutters in Canada. I loved them for their sheer simplicity, their peeling paint, rusty hinges and hearts! Why are they closed? When were they last opened. Why are they so rustic? Is anybody home? Were they made for a loved one? Are the lovers still together?
Maybe they aren’t so simple after all.
