In Loving Memory

Decided to have a quiet day today so, with the sun shining brightly, we went off to Undercliffe Cemetery, Bradford.
Never been before - what an amazing place. The Victorians had a fascination with death, and this is reflected in the Victorian funerary art in the cemetery.
It was opened in 1854, contains 23,000 graves and holds a total of 124,000 burials within the 26 acre parkland.
The memorials are incredible - and the names thereon are fascinating. Looks as though most of the great and good of Bradford are buried here.
Certainly worth another visit :-)
