The Province of Cadiz .............

.......... in Southern Spain.

This is a very typical Spanish town set high up on a hillside - they look just amazing when the sky is so blue.

For a change I was able to stop in a variety of places to get photos but chose this one as it shows the figure on the hill (on the right - el Peñón del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús (the Rock of the Sacred Heart of Jesus), carved by Jose Even Navas, in 1929) - as well as the huge church (Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación (the Parish of Our Lady of the Incarnation) on the left ..... I also liked the fields and meadow leading up to the town ..... I couldn't quite get a couple of horses in the shot as that would have meant a road sign as well - sorry.

A letterbox crop otherwise totally sooc.

It's worth looking a bit closer ...

Thank you so much for all the lovely comments on the "bird on a wire" yesterday - he winged it quickly onto the spotlight page (and is still there as I type this at 7.51pm Friday) and chirruped with joy - his feet really do look like little barbed wire knots ....
