Canadian Museum for Human Rights, Winnipeg

Our first day in Winnipeg!  It actually started with a little adventure to get my hearing aids 'fixed'.  The tubing burst on the plane journey leaving me struggling.  Luckily my cousin tracked down a friendly audiologist who did the job 'tout suite' (it was in St Boniface, the majority French speaking part of Winnipeg).

That done we spent several hours at the impressive Canadian Museum for Human Rights.  The museum opened in 2012 and was designed by Antoine Predock.  The building is full of symbolism and echoes the surrounding landscape - a craggy limestone mountain surrounded by a glass cloud and topped with an icy peak.

It's dark on entry and gets lighter as you move through and up the building reflecting the hopes for human rights.
