This afternoon, we walked about 5km north of the city to the Convention centre where D's conference will begin tomorrow. It is in an area known as the Forum, by the seafront at the end of Diagonal, and a feast for the eyes of anyone (like me) who is interested in modern architecture.

This photo was taken looking up through a building which now houses the Museum Blau De les Ciences Naturals. It was designed by the Swiss architects Herzog and de Meuron (Tate Modern, Birdsnest, Beijing Olympics).
