A few months ago I wrote in my blip journal about the destruction of the bosque by cyclists (mountain bikers) who have decided the whole river forest is to be their playground...making new paths everywhere, forgetting about all of the wild critters whose habitats are being destroyed.

Today at the bosque, the musician and I met Dustin Chavez-Davis, Open Space Project Coordinator.  The musician had written to him about our concern.  It turns out the City of Albuquerque is also concerned.  

We walked together for two hours while we showed him many of the unnecessary paths being developed.  Dustin took photos of the destruction while we talked about the City's plans and how we, the citizens, can also help to Save the Bosque. 

Change won't happen overnight, but change must start somewhere.  It was a grand feeling to know our City cares enough to come out and meet with two concerned citizens.  Hope rises...Looking forward!
