Arthur

We met Arthur when we moved to Bowral in 2000 and he was our next door neighbour for thirteen years. Arthur was the head of maintenance at the local abattoir and there was nothing mechanical that he couldn't tackle. He had a huge workshop under his house, crammed with tools and all manner of things that could be put to use in solving mechanical challenges.

Arthur was a keen camper and outback traveller. He was always supportive of our outback caravanning adventures. We learned so much from him, and it seemed we never came up with a problem he couldn't solve for us, or a needed part that he couldn't either find in the workshop or make for us.

Arthur has moved into more supported accommodation and he has had to leave that fabulous workshop behind. The skips were brought in and  what couldn't be sold or recycled or given away went to the tip. It's a sad day.
