Fungi Diversity

I had to cut down the old maple tree in the front yard a few years ago and thought I should have the stump ground down but didn't get to it.  Now it is home to so many mushrooms which come and go at regular intervals.  With all our recent rain, it has really out done itself.  There were 5 different kinds of mushrooms this day!  They don't last long but with an on again, off again rainy week ahead, they will be back!  Gift #174: nature's constant surprises.
