Looking Through

the Main Avenue or Cleveland Memorial Shoreway bridge to Lake Erie, from the top of the Viaduct.  Our first time there.  A great place for different views of downtown.

Earlier we joined S & L for a tour of the streetcar level of the Veterans Memorial aka Detroit-Superior bridge while it was open for two days.  Built in 1912, the top side is used for cars, but the two lower levels are closed.  Input from citizens is being collected for its potential future use.  Sitting high over the Cuyahoga River, I was a bit queasy walking over partially open flooring in some areas.   Some sections are in good shape while others will need a good deal of renovation to make them secure.  We had to sign releases of liability to walk over the bridge.

We were lucky with the weather, the traffic, and the people.  Everything and everyone was pleasant.
