Took the car to be washed and valeted first thing ….much needed after recent beaches and holidays….and whilst that was being done I walked down to and along the prom at Portobello. It was bright and warm despite there being quite a cloud covering but good to be out and about and watching the swimmers and rowers and dog walkers all busy. I enjoyed a coffee and bacon roll sitting by the sea wall, then walked back just in time to get the car. Home and picked some elderflowers and put them in to soak to make syrup, then watched a bit of Glastonbury before getting changed and heading over to Fife.
Lovely afternoon at F&G’s….the sun was fully out here and their garden and the village and harbour were looking stunning. It was really hot when we sat out with our G&T’s and I needed to borrow one of the straw hats on offer. We walked down to The Dory for supper and enjoyed a lovely meal with amongst other things mackerel, squid, oysters, crab soup and a delicious marmalade pudding to finish, continuing the afternoon’s chat about parent care, plans for house buying and selling, strikes, gardening, painting, awards, dogs, promotions, fires, tendons and managers amongst many other topics. Walked home at 10.30pm before it was dark and went almost straight to bed…lovely day
