Sgwarnog: In the Field

View

I joined these Wood Pigeon in admiring the view over Manningham Mills and Bradford from Baildon Moor.

It was baking hot on top of the moor and there were tens of Large Skipper, Small Heath, Meadow Brown and Ringlet butterflies in the grass along with my first burnet moths of the year (Narrow-bordered Five-spot Burnet.)

There wasn’t any dragonfly activity in the large ponds on High Plain, but a Mallard had selected this bleak spot to raise a brood (extra).
