The Edge of the Forest

The farthest point of my early afternoon stroll on part of Ashdown Forest to the south of the Wych Cross - Coleman's Hatch 'Ridge Road'.

The fence blocking further progress along the ancient trackway I was following bears testimony to the breakup of the original extent of the Forest over the years.
