Spike

It was a lovely evening (see the extra) for auk watching at Sumburgh Head. Puffins were coming into the burrows very fast, off-loading their sand-eels then having a quick preen before heading out to sea again.  There appear to be quite a few hungry pufflings to feed, but none yet mobile enough to venture towards the burrow entrance.

I understand that puffins return to the same burrow year-on-year - assuming this is right, meet Spike.  I've photographed him (or her) before.
