Tools to Tanzania

Called in at my little hometown Crickhowell today before setting off for a family wedding outside Oxford.

I took the opportunity to stroll around the town and marvel at the changes.

Tools for Tanzania caught my eye.
This is a local based charity (official titlewww.tfsrcymru.org.uk]-Tools for Self Reliance Cymru ) which operates out of a workshop unit in the former Upper House farmyard.

It cleans and restores tools then sends them out to Africa, mainly to Tanzania.

Since they started in 1983 they have sent over 600 refurbished tool kits to rural areas of Africa.

Now they have a dedicated sewing machine workshop, which refurbishes around 150 machines, a year and these are sent to mainly women's groups in Tanzania and Zimbabwe.
