NZ Winter 2024

By AndrewNZ

That's a biggie.

A busy day and only just got to see this fella leaving the Port its one of the biggest to have paid us a visit.
Statistics for those interested, 260 metres long by 32 metres wide it is deemed to have the ability to carry 4400 TEU (Twenty foot Equivalent Units). I'll translate that, a TEU is a 20' container and although it carries more 40' containers there's some positions onboard that will only take 20' containers so the numbers are always recorded in 20's. It was built in 2009 so around halfway through its life.
It's currently enroute to Wellington.

I nearly missed this boat leaving as I was driving for the Cancer Society and it took longer than expected I meet some amazing people doing this.

A better day today a few clouds about but mainly blue the airport was fogged in this morning till around 1030.
