Experiment

Experiment in a hurry! A mixed fruit (very cheap over-ripe strawberries bought yesterday, gooseberries, and some rhubarb from the freezer) tart, made mainly to use up some ready-roll pastry that was just past its use-by date. Delicious!

No walk planned for today, as MrM's heel has been painful for a while. We had intended to go in to Huddersfield tomorrow to find him a more comfortable pair of shoes before he goes back to work at the bakery on Wednesday. A nice potter around Hebden Bridge was on the cards. But a mid-morning call from the bakery put paid to all that, as he's now going in to work tomorrow!

We headed in to Huddersfield this afternoon, and did indeed buy a more comfortable pair of shoes for MrM. And I bought some sun screen, so no doubt the weather will now change drastically so I shan't need any more this year!

The forecast thunderstorms missed us, so more watering this evening  before an early-ish night ahead of tomorrow's 4.00am wake-up...
