Scotland’s Women Gather

I went to an amazing event today in the Scottish Parliament, run by Elect Her. Three hundred and fifty women filled the Parliament with the aim of getting elected, be it to their community council and all the way to MP. There were workshops for those wanting to be more active in their community, to preparing to stand for election and the steps in between.

Many of the speakers said how wonderful if was to look all around the Chamber and see only women. One of them spoke about how the event nourished her soul, and I would agree. It was one of those days where you look forward to the future rather than fear it.
