Fuel Wood Carriers

We went up to Entoto early in the morning to get some photos of the city for a fund raising video that was being shot. This woman trotted down the hill and was perfectly happy to be photographed. She is carrying a huge bundle of firewood.

Apparently the fuel-wood carriers, only women, are treated miserably. There is at least one NGO which teaches them other skills (weaving) to help them lead easier lives.

The HDR software did some funny things to this photo, but I didn't mind the effect.
