Common carder bee

Only 2 photos taken today - a screen shot of an OS map app showing co-ordinates for a moth record [ my friend found an absolutely beautiful Elephant Hawkmoth in her greenhouse] and this one of a bee in our garden. 
this afternoon we took mum for a visit to the Care Home she has decided to go into. She liked it which was good...I had very mixed feelings ....it's the right decision for her to make as she's no longer happy in her own home and often quite frightened these days but when she was well she was always so adamant she didn't want to end her days anywhere other than at home :( Sad.
