a lifetime burning

The small tortoiseshell butterfly didn't half make it difficult to get this shot, but I got him in the end.  I know I said I probably wouldn't have an insect in today's shot, but the butterfly tempted me.

We've been to Mottisfont House today, where we met up with Janet and Incredibish and my brother Brentastic and my 94 year old Aunty Laurie.  As you can see from the first extra she's still doing well (though she finds warm weather difficult) and most definitely has all the marbles she was originally issued with.

The lavender was looking fabulous and so I couldn't resist giving you the second extra, of a long bed of it swaying gently in the breeze.
