Auroc? or Manola Uno?

I'm totally confused....not unusual for me!
We stayed with friends in Divonne Les Bains in France.
On one side it has the Jura mountains and the other the Alps.
It's on a river and has a lake and is surrounded  by ancient " wetland " now tamed to create a country park. 

With me so far?

In the country park you have Auroc Cattle. Google says they are  extinct , used to roam UK, now being introduce for rewilding, now reintroduced as Manola Uno ..........???

Something exists in modest quantity and it look like this. 

'It' was slightly confused by the barbed wire but quite alert but didn't speak English but my French isn't  good either. So we couldn't discuss.
