Redcurrants

Tuesday was redcurrant picking day. We only have one bush, but it fruits very well, and I love their jewel-like colour and shine. I also picked the summer's first tub of raspberries, from canes around the redcurrants. There are plenty more, but a lot of nettle-bashing will be needed before I can reach them.

The morning was taken up with a return visit to Canterbury, to have the mount for J's communication aid re-sited on her wheelchair, using a mounting plate which was not available the last time we went. It was constricting part of the frame, which meant that we could not remove her footplates. This was successfully resolved, and we picked up eggs from the farm on the way and a click and collect compost order from the garden centre on the way back, so it was a useful if mundane outing. It's always lovely to drive around the lanes, especially the ones we don't often use.
