and through the wire...

Bit of a rainy day but not too bad. Girls were out all day birthday shopping leaving Arlo and I to keep things in order.

I was up far too early this morning to buy tickets for Foo Fighters next year having bought tickets for them maybe 20 years ago that was cancelled, and now they are coming with Courtney Barnett yeehah! While I am aware of Ticketmaster's pricing method, I didn't really see it in action until today. After waiting in the queue, on several devices, you have options for normal tickets (£55-£105, pretty reasonable these days for big acts) and platinum tickets which vary in price depending on how good they are and they are usually at least twice the price sometimes almost thrice the price! But the normal and platinum are often next to each other, no actual difference. Once the normal tickets are sold out, you are left with the platinum options which sell out last. They are often described as for the real fans, who just want to get tickets, whatever the price, up to £280! I don't know how they can justify it, why governments can stop it, and it seems way worse in the USA. If there is high demand, the price rises. Then the "scalpers" use their autobots to buy normal tickets and sell them for even higher prices. It's all quite scandalous really and I make a point of not ever buying those, except Selft Esteem last minute, £50 for a £25 ticket, OMG, it's a Friday night waffle time, bring on the weeeeekend...
