The Lozarithm Lens

The Woodland Garden (Friday 30th June 2023)

From my upstairs study my view of the garden is largely restricted to this cotinus and an equally tall maple next to it that between them fill my window. Consequently I am very familiar with its day to day appearance, and was surprised to see these newly-formed red leaves. A few much needed showers took place.
Thanks to BikerBear for hosting Flower Friday.

Lozarithm's Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Sarabeth Tucek - 13th St #2 (2023)
The return of Sarabeth Tucek to action in 2022 took the form of her album Joan Of All, billing herself as SBT, for some reason. The July edition of Mojo came with a compilation CD entitled Ramblers And Gamblers (15 Key Voices For 2023) inspired by the wide-ranging back catalogue of Joni Mitchell. It opened with this propulsive version of 13th St, not from Joan Of All but from a newer 33 rpm single version in which she channels Patti Smith, Lou Reed and the sound of New York over six urgent minutes.
