Starry Eyed Surprise

By bellerock

Remember, I love you.

I looked for you in the bluebell woods

And couldn't find you anywhere.

You were nowhere,

Though I could feel you with me somewhere.

In the tiny anemone's golden six-pointed star?

In the scattered pale-yellow oxlips?

In the stray ragged robin's pink?

I couldn't think.

Then suddenly I knew:

The bluebells - knee-high, as far as the eye could see

Between the chestnut trunks - they were you:

Anywhere? Nowhere? Somewhere? Everywhere.
