They’re Back

The fantastic musicians who make up the Bellingham Festival of Music orchestra are here for the 30th season. Tonight was the first concert. This year is a bit different: five guest conductors, finalists for the musical director opening since Michael Palmer retired last year. If tonight’s concert is any indication, we are in for a very special season and a hard decision at the end. Tonight’s conductor, Ward Stare, did a great job. He chose the music and the soloist, soprano Andriana Chuchman, who sang Barber’s Knoxville Summer of 1915 and the last movement of Mahler’s 4 th Symphony. She was amazing too. And it was wonderful to welcome back friends again this year.
