Birthday party!

A friend celebrated her 50th birthday (though not nearly on the actual day) at the farming and household society's clubhouse. The house was full and I knew a lot of the people, not just the locals and the common relatives of her husband and me, but also common friends from the long gone university days.

There were surprise appearances by the their kids playing a couple of songs and the friends telling and singing about the days gone by, and a band, along with great food. The cakes were made by her mother-in-law, whose masterpieces we tasted just two weeks ago. A great evening!

The weather made a full turn. +17°C in the afternoon and rain most of the time, yielding nine millimetres by midnight. That was less than expected, but there's more to come. Good weather for the party though, as the house still was at least warm enough and you could get cooler on the porch or on the yard. The rain was just light drizzle most of the time.
