Sunday driver

After I’d cut the grass, I enjoyed lying in the sun with a cup of tea. The blackbirds came surprisingly close as they foraged.

Earlier I’d taken George to work. He’d been impressed by how quiet the car was, and said it was a bit like living in the future.

“Yeah,” I said. “When I was a kid, if you’d told me people would be driving electric cars…”

“You’d have asked ‘what’s a car?’” he replied.

Everyone’s a comedian. It did make me laugh, though.
