Battle Royal

Mr and Mrs Woodpecker and the red squirrel battled it out this morning for feeding rights at the bird feeder. After several swoops, whereby the squirrel stood his ground, I was a little concerned about the safety of all so I put out more nuts and seeds on the grass hoping one or the other would switch to feeding there...they all did! A least it gave me the first picture opportunity in five years of getting a squirrel and woodpecker in the same shot!
