Horseshoe Falls, Llangollen

SUNDAY

A drive through the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley to Llangollen. A look around Plas Newydd, house and gardens - the former home of the "Ladies of Llangollen" and lunch at the tearooms there.

Then over to the Horseshoe Falls - a 140m weir, built by Thomas Telford, to divert water from the River Dee into what is the beginning of the Llangollen Canal.

Finally, a drive along the DeeValley to Glyndyfrdwy where a Classic Transport Weekend was underway and to Corwen for pancakes and coffee.
