In the Westman Islands off the south coast of Iceland. The town was decimated by a volcanic eruption in 1973. Today is the 50th anniversary of the end of the eruption and the President of Iceland was here to celebrate. Our more intrepid fellow travellers climbed the volcano. We were taken on a tour of the islands beauty spots and wildlife locations, visited the museum that explained the eruption and its aftermath, then had the fish of the day and a glass of beer in warm sunshine on the harbour side. Tomorrow we will be in Reykjavik and heading for the airport.
