Weathered

This week's Mono Monday theme, set by July's host Nikimags88, is 'Weathered'.  I've sort of gone with the theme as the trunk of our ash tree does look rather weathered, especially as I've given the photo a poster effect.  Clinging to the side is a great spotted woodpecker who had been happily working at a bird feeder until a magpie and and crow appeared and chased him away.  Soon after they left, he and then a mate returned to the bird feeders.
in other news:  no real news, although there was a bit of a controversy at Lords yesterday and today three MCC members were suspended after an altercation in the Long Room, also yesterday.
The weather seems to have returned to grey, damp and rather chilly after June was recorded as the hottest UK June ever.
