If you can't beat them...

It was "Social Club" week this week, the Speaker was Taffy Thomas MBE the first and so far only Storyteller Laureate. Taffy had a serious stroke 38 years ago.  In his words, the doctor told him he could sit and dribble or work harder than he had ever worked in his life and get some normality back.

The stroke had taken away his ability to speak.  When he had been a teenager a Cornish storyteller told him a story, thinking back to the story he used telling stories to work until his speech was normal.  Now he has been invited to speak all over the world and has a repertoire of 300 stories from memory.
