Coasters of Whitby

Daughters brought us these two reminders of our many holidays there. Memorably exciting for me was the two separate visits with a friend to see and board the fabulous Australian replica of Endeavour the original of which was built in Whitby as a collier (Earl of Pembroke) then recommended by James Cook for purchase by the Royal Navy for his first voyage of discovery in 1768.
I have many souvenirs of those Endeavour visits which are displayed in my maritime 'museum'
