The Glacier Express

We left our hotel in Brig to catch the Glacier Express which was literally just outside the hotel . The journey lasted 4 hours from Brig to Chur .The Glacier Express is the slowest express train in the world. The views were wonderful- particularly the Rhine Gorge which is known as the ‘Swiss Grand Canyon ‘ and the Oberalp Pass at 2033m above sea level where the railway reaches its highest point ! ( L to R - pic 3 ) .
The seating was well set up with internet and cooked water.

When we arrived in Chur it was like stepping into an oven !! It was 43degrees Celcius ! We wandered through the streets but headed for a cafe and a welcome drink !
There were some lovely streets in the old town ! But really it was too hot to explore !
We then hopped on the coach again and travelled to Klosters for our next hotel !
Fortunately, this was a much better 4* one and we were greeted warmly . After dinner, we had a wander to get our bearings of Klosters - it was completely deserted!Their main season doesn’t begin until July !!
The extras are of Chur !
