Thistle have to do

Just as well I snapped this thistle this morning as the weather rapidly deteriorated and I didn’t get out again until the soggy trudge home.

A couple of my colleagues had invitations to the Royal Garden Party at Holyrood this afternoon. The rain just got heavier as the afternoon wore on. Such a shame, but they were dressed up in all their finery anyway, determined to enjoy it.  Wellies and sou’westers might have been more appropriate. 

The weather didn’t look any better at Wimbledon.
