100,000 Phone Box

100,000 Phone Box

Sited in Dunsop Bridge by BT after the Ordinance Survey declared, after much calculation, that a point 4 Miles north west called Whitendale Hanging Stones was the exact centre of Britain. Dunsop Bridge is the closest village. The Phone Box was designed by Wolff Olins. Its doors are etched with the names of major cities radiating outward from the village. In was opened in 1992 by Sir Ranulph Fiennes.

Fast forward to today we see phone boxes in villages now being used for Libraries, seed exchange, decorations by the WI etc. This one is still a phone box.

I would like to know how many phone boxes were actually installed.
