A chough day

We spent the morning trying to film the cliffs where the choughs nest and very excited to actually see some which I have put in extras. These are rapidly declining birds with only about 42 pairs now living on the island. We were supposed to be meeting up with a number of people from other companies however last nights ferry broke down so they didn't manage over until the evening so missed the day. This is the group that did make it setting up scopes to watch the golden eagle above us. I preferred listening to the grey seals below us singing, an amazing sound echoing up the cliffs.

A new part of the island for me and spectacular to see.  We spent some time learning about cow pats and the beetles in them, see extra. This is the food source which Choughs rely on and as you can imagine is effected by many things including medicine given to the cow.
