Admirable

Seeing this red admiral took me back to my childhood years when they seemed commonplace. Apparently their host plant is the stinging nettle which I recall grew on the many disused rough grounds where we used to play. Calamine lotion was often administered.

However, here this is my fist recording of one and we don't have stinging nettles as far as I have seen. I found him down by the lake shore sunbathing on a rock, true to his name commanding the waves. In Victorian times they were called red admirable.
