Sgwarnog: In the Field

Ambience

The clouds formed an impressive backdrop as Ilkley Town’s pre-season Friendly against Silsden progressed into the evening.  It was difficult not to get distracted by the gliding Swifts and calling Curlew. But they aren’t really distractions, they’re part of the ambience at the Ben Rhydding ground. Silsden won the game 1-0, surviving the ignominy of their goalie being sin binned for 10 minutes during the second half.

Earlier it had been another full on day of professional development workshops at work, but things will start to get a lot quieter around the place now as people start their summer breaks.

I managed a quick lunchtime visit to the butterflies in the park: Meadow Brown, Ringlet, Small Skipper and Large White were active in the meadow.
