And no, this isn't a front door either. I think it's a back gate, although it looks like the sign is covering up an old letter box slot.

Despite the fact that it has been inserted into the wall relatively recently, judging by the stonework, it looks like it's seen better times. Interesting shoe prints right in the middle...
