Dear Green Place 1 - Queen's Park

I think I need a project for June otherwise I might be blipping cygnets for the whole month :-) So, here begins a month of blips from a different Glasgow park each day. This one is Queen's Park, developed over the second half of the 19th century, situated on the site of the 16th century Battle of Langside and named after Mary, Queen of Scots.

This is one of my favourite things about Queen's Park; the view looking north and slightly west, with the Campsie Fells and the bump of Dumgoyne in the background.

Plenty of coots, moorhens, mallards and tadpoles in the ponds here, but no cygnets. The park also has a lovely Rose Garden with quotes from Scottish poets carved into the stones.
