Research Ship

During a visit to Arbroath today, I was told that the red ship a short distance from the shore was the Research/Survey Vessel, Sir David Attenborough. The Marine Traffic app quickly confirmed this. It has recently been in Rosyth for a refit but what it was doing at Arbroath, I have yet to discover. This ship will forever be remembered for the public vote held to chose a name while it was being built. The public voted for Boaty McBoatface, but fortunately this was overruled. I did not have the ideal camera for this shot, but they say that the best camera to use is the one you have with you.
