Oh Yes, Oh Yes

Our friend Jenny who is here on the same site is a member of the Warwick Court Leet, and is in Wareham along with other Courts Leet at the invite of the Wareham version.

They processed along the high street and over the bridge today for a town cryer's competition.  They made a great sight walking over the bridge, and despite the weather had a good time.  Had this been last Saturday it would have been a candidate for Silly Saturday?

Courts Leet were perhaps like a mediaeval trading standards  set-up,  sampling beer and attending to some other judicial matters.
Nowadays they are more of a ceremonial thing associated with promoting their local area.
