The Brown Island

Long & thin (55x7km) Sao Jorge is known as the Brown Island … but the predominant colours here (and of each island we’ve visited in the Azores) are a myriad of blues & greens. 

Today was a tough 14k hike: Serra do Topo - Caldera de St Cristo - Faja dos Cubres. 

Quiet, waterfalls, hydrangeas, ferns, scenery, black & white buildings. Warm & sunny. Another memorable day in these beautiful islands.
